BEFORE & AFTER sunroof

Can you see my frames are fading in sunlight?

***

This is the roof that is going to have a makeover. I want to have some shades installed on the roof to protect my frames from fading (or at least to slow down the process of fading!) as a result of sunlight.

I'd been looking around and finally found this window sheets at Parkson, selling at RM47.95 per meter. I bought 4 meters.

The step-by-step of the making: measuring, marking, cutting, climbing, wiping, sweeping etc plus messing up... heheAnd... DONE!!

BEFORE

AFTER
Linking with Savvy Southern Style for BTB Party 9.
Thanks Kim!

That looks great! What a good idea...I was wondering in the beginning how it would work out but it did and looks so good. I sure like seeing those palm trees.

Milka, what a great idea and it looks great. I don't like working up high. Makes me nervous. Good job and thanks for linking up!

Milka, this looks so good! I am so glad you did not fall off of the roof!
Try sprying your photos with clear acrylic sealer so they do not fade or a spray for that purpose- they make it.

What a great idea!

Quite a coincidence.... Kakdah bought the same material, same pattern for her windows... also from Parkson... As they say, great people think alike.. haha.

Hey.. that's really pretty.. you are very good with your hands! Ar.. I just have a question.. do you stick it on top or from below? (If I have to do it one day) Would below be good because then it'd not get the rain....?

Thank you all for the lovely comments. My hb said it looks rather weird that i didn't cover the whole roof, actually i'm short of the window sheets. But i think it looks ok this way. Can't afford to have 4 more meters.

Tete: Oh Tete, thank you for the advise! You always give me solutions to my problems! Will go to the hardware shop to look for it. Thank you!!

Bangchik: Kakdah memang good taste (also self praising haha). But i find this sheets are not easy to stick on the windows.

OKC: Initially i tried to stick it from below, but it is too difficult to do that as the sheets don't really 'stick' to the glasses and i'm doing it all by myself. So i had to change to put them on top instead, much easier. Also have to glue the 4 sides of the sheets.

Great job, Milka! Wonderful colours. I used to buy this sort of sheets for my very large windows in my old house. I cannot imagine how you got it done that neatly since it is a roof with areas almost unreachable.
