Seed Week

I used to spend a fortune on buying plants. But since i joined the blogging world, i've learned a lot from other blogging friends (especially Diana from Kebun Malay-Kadazan girls) to save money by propagating plants from cuttings and saving seeds.
I create most backups of my garden from cuttings before plants turn old or should they die. I must say, cuttings are fun and easy, they are thrifty and they make me proud :)

Plants propagated from cuttings

Portulacas

一点红

Kangkung

Rosemary

Mulberries

Seed saving is an advanced level to me so i started up with some simple flower plants..
My personal seed banks

Flower seed bank

Veggie seed bank

Obviously i stilll have a lot to learn...

Linking with Kebun Malay-Kadazan girls for Seed Week.
Thanks Diana!

I love your portulacas, they look so fat and healthy. Not bad la your seed banks, can see that they are growing with your new flower seeds. Im trying to save seeds too from now on from my veggie garden, though nothing yet from my flowers since mine all from stem propagations.

I like stem propagation too. They seem faster and easier. See that you propagate kangkung via stem as well. May all your baby plants grow healthily.

"BLUSH""blush"BLUSH". I see your mulberry tree is multiplying. As P3chandan said your portulaca look fat and healty mine are so thin. Wah so many home-saved seed now Milka. I tried last summer and this summer to grow KangKong from stem but they won't grow so slow macam siput. But I think because is not humid enough for them to grow here, In malaysia from stem like yours will grow so fast. However the one I sowed from seeds grow very fast. Thank you for sharing.

It really does save money and you get so much more enjoyment out of sharing seeds because they are from friends not some strange catalog or nursery. You have quite the stock-pile!

I think you are doing very well with the seed saving and stem cuttings. Cheers!
