Wind chime no.4
NOT THIS ONE!
I bought this wind chime last week from a thrift shop. It is huge. I didn't want to buy this but i don't know why it was with me at the counter when paying. It followed me home. I hung this in the garden, but for only 2 nights i took it off. I had a weird creepy feeling towards this wind chime. I didn't sleep well during the 2 nights, i kept hearing continuous tingling hum in my ears. I had nightmares, and i woke up with unexplained bruises on my knees the next day morning, and scratches on the bruises the following morning. It could possibly be me that pinching myself in my sleep? But i can't explain the scratches on the bruises - i have a bad habit biting my nails so i don't keep long finger nails. It is hard not to let my imagination run wild! Then i recalled another Chinese superstition saying that a naughty ghost's visit will leave you bruises and scratches. Oooh i get a chill just thinking about this... Say no more, i took the wind chime down and tossed it in trash. And my sleep is now back to normal. No more nightmares, no more bruises or scratches. What do you think about wind chimes?
Does anyone else think that wind chimes are spooky?

I am so excited! Thank you for joining my party.
I never knew there were stories to wind chimes.
I love your collection and your spooky story about the bad one. I would have thrown it away, too!
Glad you are sleeping better without it!

Hi Milka,
That is very spooky...All of them are very cute. In No.2 picture is that a real parrot in the background?
I will have to tell my daughter about this windchime superstition.
I am glad you took that certain windchime down. It is a creepy story!
I have a clay set of chimes....I had no idea about the stories behind them....eewwww.
Mine must be nice ones...they just tinkle in the breeze.

How interesting about the windschimes-never heard that about them-how cool! We only have one-outside the kitchen window.
I have heard about these superstitions too. But I like windchimes, l love the sound they make whenever there is a slight movement. Wooden ones, ceramic and metal all have different sounds. You have a good collection. Now, I am motivated to get more windchimes.
I've never heard about stories associated with wind chimes. I know that the ones you threw out would drive me crazy. Wind chimes keep me awake at night so I've never kept them around. Interesting post!

How interesting! That is very spooky.
I have spoon windchime hanging in my garden.
There may be some truth in those Chinese stories.
That is a pretty creepy story but I've never been one to believe in superstitions and the paranormal. For me if there's no hard evidence, I don't see any reason to believe it. I'm glad that you're sleeping better without it but I hope people don't get put off from buying beautiful wind chimes. I believe that the mind is very powerful and if you think something may bring you harm, it can lead to restless sleep and possibly unconsciously harming yourself in your sleep. A mind's imagination can run wild if you let it but we have to be the ones who keep it in check.
A wind chime should be taken down during the hungry ghost time period. This could cause harm to you and your family.
